Description
Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Suture, undyed, braided, size 2-0, 27" length with CP-2 needle is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of polyglactin 910. It features an added antibacterial agent, triclosan, which has been proven in vitro to inhibit bacterial colonization by common pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), and methicillin-resistant S. epidermidis (MRSE).
The braided multifilament construction of the suture ensures flexibility, handling ease, and reliable knot security. The undyed form is suited for cases where minimal suture visibility is preferred, such as subcuticular closures. The coating of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate contributes to smooth passage through tissue, minimizing drag and trauma during insertion and tying.
The attached CP-2 needle is a 1/2 circle taper point needle made of stainless steel, designed for precise soft tissue approximation. Its structure supports minimal penetration resistance, making it effective for internal and general tissue closure.
